A walk by local historian and author Steven Horton of the Botanic Park/Edge Hill area. During this walk, which covers a distance of 2 miles, Steven will talk about the history of churches including St Cyprian, St Mary’s and St Annes, the city’s botanical gardens and the international exhibition of 1886.

The tour will also take in some notable and notorious homes, including that of a VC recipient and the only solicitor in Britain to be hanged for murder. Other features include the story of Williamsons Tunnels and one of the worlds oldest railway stations, and what Winston Churchill described at the time as the worst single incident of World War 2.

The price is £5 per adult, children 16 and under free. It starts from the entrance to Botanic Park at the corner of Botanic Road and Edge Lane, L7 5PZ.
