On Sunday 10th April 2022 at 2pm local historian and author will give a walking tour of Garston, one of Liverpool’s most fascinating districts.

Steven will talk about Garston’s growth as a village from the first known settlement there in the 13th century, to the first dock and its eventual incorporation into the city of Liverpool in 1902. The tour will take in local churches and chapels (current and former), places of entertainment and sports venues. It will include tales of heroism by local residents in both world wars and some homes of notable local residents including dairymen, artists, medical men and a bishop. There’ll also be some dark tales of murder connected to the docks.

The tour lasts one and a half to two hours and costs £5 per adult,  17 and under free. Payment by cash on the day or by card in advance via online link.

It will start from the Garston War Memorial at the corner of Long Lane and Woolton Road, L19 6PL
