At 2pm on Saturday 17th July 2021 local author and historian Steven Horton will give a walking tour of Sefton Park and the surrounding Livingston, Mossley Hill and Aigburth Drives.
Steven will talk about the history of the park and some of its key features including the palm house, lake and Eros statue.
He will also detail some of the notable occupants of local houses including a rugby international killed in World War One, the founder of one of America’s most famous hot dog brands and the home of the actor whose was the first Scouse accent heard on radio. There’ll also be some quirky and gruesome tales from the area.
The tour will start from the gothic water fountain at the southern end of the lake, where Mossley Hill and Aigburth Drives meet, at 2pm on Saturday 17th July. The cost is £5 per adult, under 16s free and well behaved dogs welcome. Payment by cash on the day or online card payment. If you book/pay in advance and cannot attend you will receive a full refund.
