Walton is one of Liverpool’s oldest districts, in fact Liverpool’s St Nicholas church was once a chapel of ease to St Mary’s in Walton.
Author and historian Steven Horton’s walking tour of the old village area on Saturday 2nd October will cover the history behind this church, some local pubs, schools, dairies and also dark tales of Victorian murder and suicide. There will also be notable local residents including actors, comedians, architects and politicians.
The tour will last around 2 hours and costs £5 per adult, 16 and under free. Starts from parking area outside the Black Horse pub and gate to St Mary’s.
